A1.5The question, word for word
What is your organisation's registered address?

Source: IASME Cyber Essentials Danzell question set v16.3

Short answer

A1.5 needs the legal registered address of the primary entity in A1.1, exactly as it appears on Companies House or the relevant register. It is often an accountant's or solicitor's office rather than where you work. Your working locations go in A1.5.1, and home workers' addresses are never listed.

Is A1.5 an automatic fail?

No. A1.5 records information about your organisation and is not marked against a technical requirement, so no answer to it fails the assessment. Inaccurate or contradictory details may be returned by the assessor for correction.

What does A1.5 ask?

A1.5 asks: “What is your organisation's registered address?”

A1.5 asks for your organisation's registered address. IASME's guidance is a single line: provide the legal registered address for your organisation.

For a company that is the registered office address on Companies House. It does not need to be a site you operate from, and many small companies use their accountant's address. Your actual offices, warehouses or shops go in A1.5.1, which feeds the network questions in A2.3.

What should you write in the notes field for A1.5?

Write two to four specific sentences for A1.5: what you do, who owns it, how often it happens and the record that proves it.
